Interview Advice

We are keen to learn more about your personality, skills, and motivation. As part of the interview process, you will have the opportunity to meet various members of the team and learn more about the DBMC culture.

The Application and Interview Process

The application process at DBMC begins with the submission of your full application at db.com/careers. Your application should include a detailed résumé and a cover letter, explaining why you would like to join us and why you are a great fit for the role in question. After successfully submitting your application via DB’s online application system, you will receive feedback within a few weeks.

Once you are invited to the first round of interviews, we will let you know exactly what’s going to happen before the process begins. In the interview, we wish to learn more about your professional and personal experiences, challenges and accomplishments. To reach this stage, you will have already impressed us with your application, so take the opportunity to make a personal connection. Get to know your interviewer, ask questions, and above all be yourself.

Round 1 (usually lasts four hours):

  • Introduction to DBMC
  • One fit and one case interview with potential future colleagues
  • Third interview with a project manager of DBMC

Round 2: (usually lasts 2 hours):

What’s in it for you

Given that our interview process is highly individualized, you have the opportunity to find out whether you feel the role and the company are right for you. You will have plenty of time to ask questions and meet some of your potential future colleagues. In the one-on-one interviews, we seek to get to know you as an individual and how you approach problems and solve them. Throughout the interview process, you will receive detailed and transparent feedback and we will discuss potential next steps together. In a case interview, we will present a real-life example that allows you to learn more about the type of work we do.

What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates who have an above-average university degree as well as practical consulting and project experience, ideally in the financial services industry. Furthermore, we require international experience (study abroad or several months of work abroad). In addition to excellent analytical and conceptual skills to solve complex problems, you also need the ability to work at the highest quality level under time pressure. Since we are in constant communication with our clients and always work in teams, we expect very high social competence as well as the ability to be part of a team. A high level of commitment, a good degree of self-reflection along with the drive to learn new things help you achieve your goals in DBMC.
